Pure cycle touring, TRANSCAZORLA ROAD. This time we’ve designed a route that almost circumnavigates the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park, taking you through its most remote and secluded areas. Generally well-maintained mountain roads, with only occasional traffic, will allow you to fully enjoy your road bikes and get to know the natural environment you’ll be riding through in the best possible way.

The TransCazorla Road consists of a total route of 325 km, which we have divided into three main stages that will test the physical capabilities of all cyclists. The TransCazorla Road can be ridden either clockwise or counterclockwise; the main difference between the two lies in the queen stage. If you want to start with the most challenging part of the route, ride it counterclockwise, resulting in a 139 km stage with approximately 2,750 m of elevation gain. Conversely, if you want to finish the route with the longest stage, after two days with more than 4,000 m of accumulated elevation gain, ride it clockwise. Either way, you’ll get the most out of both the route and its most scenic sections.

At each stage you will discover places of great beauty, such as the port of Tíscar, the Sierra de Segura, and the lesser-known Sierra de las Villas, and picturesque towns such as Cazorla, Hornos and Segura de la Sierra, a complete, demanding route with great scenic beauty.

  • Stage 1. Cazorla – Santiago de la Espada. Distance: 144km and 2750m elevation gain.
  • Stage 2. Santiago de la Espada – Hornos. Distance: 94km and 1490m elevation gain.
  • Stage 3. Hornos – Cazorla. Distance: 103 km and 2050 m elevation gain.

In a clockwise direction, the stages have the following characteristics:

  • Stage 1. Cazorla – Hornos. Distance: 103km and 2220m elevation gain.
  • Stage 2. Hornos – Santiago de la Espada. Distance: 94km and 2020m elevation gain.
  • Stage 3. Santiago de la Espada – Cazorla. Distance: 144 km and 2200 m elevation gain.

Prior physical preparation is necessary to successfully complete the entire route. The TransCazorla Road booking includes:
